Responsibilities The ideal candidate is an experienced public policy practitioner with strong federal government affairs experience who is keenly interested in web3, understands its policy areas of focus and how businesses in the ecosystem operate. A successful candidate will be intellectually curious and able to function in a fast-paced environment. This person will have the opportunity to direct the growth of the public policy function and drive results across a team of legal, policy and communications professionals. Responsibilities will include:
Develop, advocate and coordinate US and global proactive public policy initiatives with a focus on how clear and appropriate regulation of decentralized finance can provide stability in the ecosystem and protect user interests and national security goals. Monitor, identify, and analyze the public policy discussion and regulatory trends surrounding cryptocurrencies; identify implications for dYdX and develop proactive advocacy and policy strategies. Optimize narratives that highlight areas in which dYdX policy and thought leadership in public policy can advance policy and business priorities. Represent dYdX at key meetings, convenings and events to direct a US and global policymaker engagement strategy that will advance US and global policy priorities. Lead and grow a team that will represent dYdX at key policy meetings and identify convenings and events to advance policy priorities. Prepare strategy memos, message documents and collateral for targeted distribution within the US and global policymaker community. Advance dYdX’s policy positions in comment letters and consultation responses. Advise internal teams on public policy matters in order to guide development of products and develop policy recommendations.
Requirements 5+ years of policy and / or related business experience. Proven strategist with knowledge of political and global regulatory dynamics. Experience building and maintaining relationships across stakeholders that impact public policy.
Nice to Haves 3+ years of technology policy experience Experience working in the technology industry preferred Experience in cryptocurrency and/or blockchain preferred
