Job Summary
Your mission will involve:
đź“ŤManage multiple teams of Software Engineers and Agile Delivery leads, totalling up to đź“Ť~10 direct line reports spread across London, Cape Town and Johannesburg đź“ŤAttract, hire and grow exceptional Software Engineers đź“ŤProvide leadership to your teams, including setting clear direction, and enabling đź“Ťalignment on strategy and business objectives (OKRs) đź“ŤWork with Assoc Product Managers/Product Managers to plan and prioritise đź“ŤServe your people - mentoring, coaching and growing your team members đź“ŤTake accountability for the delivery of projects delivered by your teams. đź“ŤEnsure that the platform and services owned by your teams are stable and reliable. đź“ŤBe accountable for incidents and the response by your teams. đź“ŤUnderstand and advocate for the best security practices đź“ŤHave a broad understanding of risk management and how to mitigate against risks
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
đź“ŤExperience in leading software engineering teams đź“ŤA servant-leadership mentality đź“ŤExperience with the OKR framework đź“ŤProven experience in hiring, growing software engineers, and performance management đź“ŤExperience writing code and designing software systems đź“ŤBSc/MSc/PhD in computer science or another technical discipline, or equivalent working experience đź“ŤA passion for software development, mobile technology and Bitcoin đź“ŤTo be friendly, transparent, articulate and driven to succeed đź“ŤA work permit for South Africa if you are not a South African citizen
