Job Summary

What you will do:

šŸ“Be a champion of excellence and will be responsible for the delivery, reliability, operation, and ownership of critical features and components within Venmoā€™s core application.
šŸ“Lead a high-performing team of software engineers, and bring the leadership required to solve complex, ambiguous, and high-visibility business challenges to drive growth, engagement, and monetization of Venmo.
šŸ“Be responsible for the delivery of projects, including quality and timeliness, that impact your domain, and you will manage the technical roadmap for your scrum team and ensure alignment to a defined larger domain strategy.
šŸ“Inform and influence technical decision making for the components within your group to improve efficiency, productivity, and operational stability. šŸ“Establish a record of successful technical leadership, a solid understanding of software architecture, and the ability to effectively manage an engineering team that delivers projects spanning platforms or groups.
šŸ“Work with and enrich a talented and high-functioning team, lead them through ambiguity, and help determine their long-term strategy along with the organizationā€™s engineering roadmap.
šŸ“Define and drive reliability best practices and improvements across the organization's boundaries while setting and governing clear measures of success. šŸ“Bring efficiency to the organization through continuous improvement of systems, tools, and processes emphasizing automation.

Job Requirements:

šŸ“A record of success in technical leadership, knowledge of software architecture, and cross-functional leadership competency. šŸ“A passion for building software and applications that delight customers and the love of delivering innovative solutions to complex problems šŸ“5+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, and/or product development. šŸ“3+ years managing a geographically distributed engineering team šŸ“Advanced technical acumen in distributed systems design and full stack development, with the ability to connect well with technically savvy engineers and other stakeholders across the organization. šŸ“Demonstrate a high emotional quotient and empathy, with the ability to build trust and create psychological safety while tackling tough problems and navigating conflicts. šŸ“Practiced in incident management. You bring direction and clarity to ensure urgency in mitigation at the time of an incident and comprehensiveness in fast follow-ups with root cause analysis and corrective actions. Like us, you uphold the credo that we should never let a good customer have a bad day on our platform šŸ“Expertise in technical product management, including agile delivery methodology, planning, estimating, staffing, and executing.
