Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn’t work together. To solve this problem, we expanded into software and built integrated solutions to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Job Summary
You will:
đź“ŤPartner with the product stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and answer the most important questions where analytics will have a material impact and produce actionable insights đź“ŤDevelop tools & resources to empower data access and self-service so your expertise can be leveraged where it is most impactful đź“ŤApply a diverse set of tactics such as statistics, quantitative reasoning, and machine learning; discerning where simple analytics solutions (e.g. a quick visualization) are preferable to complex solutions (e.g. machine learning). đź“ŤCommunicate analysis and decisions to high-level stakeholders in verbal, visual, and written media đź“ŤContribute to the data strategy of the platform and influence stakeholders to make well-informed architecture and design decisions that affect data at Square
Qualifications
You have: đź“Ť3+ years of product-focused data science experience or equivalent Fluency in SQL đź“ŤExperience performing data analysis and machine learning using Python or R đź“ŤExperience using statistics to inform decision making đź“ŤAbility to understand complex business and data systems; versatility and willingness to learn new technologies on the job
