Job Summary
Your Core Responsibilities:
šOversee the lifecycle of physical servers, network devices, and other IT infrastructure components šPerform installation, configuration, and upkeep of server and network components in our data centers šPlan and implement efficient rack layouts, cabling schemes, and patching schedules to optimize data center operations šDiagnose hardware issues, coordinate with vendors for repairs or replacements (RMA process), and ensure timely resolution šHandle incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain accurate hardware inventory, and manage stock levels of IT components šDevelop and maintain comprehensive documentation of physical infrastructure, cabling layouts, rack configurations, and associated processes šBuild and maintain strong working relationships with hardware vendors, colocation partners, and remote hands teams to ensure efficient operations šMaintain office IT infrastructure, including hardware and network systems
Your Skills and Experience:
š5+ years of hands-on experience in data center engineering šStrong understanding of server hardware, network devices, and data storage systems šKnowledge of network cabling, fiber optics, and optical transceivers šExperience with fiber optic testing and cleaning is required šBasic knowledge of Linux operating systems and networking protocols šCCNA certification is a plus šProven experience in racking, cabling, and working with data center facilities management tools (power, cooling, etc.) šFamiliarity with basic scripting in Bash and Python within a Linux environment is a plus šStrong ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing requirements
