Job Summary
Essential Functions
šDesign and Implementation: You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing database systems in public cloud environments, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability of databases, including Db2 and various NoSQL databases. šDatabase Management: Deploy and manage database instances on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, utilizing cloud-native tools and services to enhance database performance and reliability. šAutomation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts for database automation tasks using Python, Ansible, or similar languages, and implement Infrastructure as Code practices using tools like Terraform, Ansible Tower or CloudFormation. šBackup and Recovery: Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure databases are protected against data loss and can be recovered in case of failure.
Preferred Qualifications
š6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD š7-10 years of DBA experience, generally with DB2 LUW and NoSQL databases. šProficiency with NoSQL databases like Cassandra or Redis Valkey . Experience with public cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
