Key Responsibilities

📍Lead and manage a team of underwriters, ensuring high-quality underwriting decisions and adherence to company guidelines. 📍Oversee workflow distribution, training, and performance management to meet production and service standards. 📍Collaborate with relationship managers to support agency premium commitments and strategic initiatives. 📍Monitor profitability and production metrics, providing regular reports and insights to senior leadership. 📍Develop and maintain strong relationships with General Agents and agency partners through regular communication and in-person visits (approximately 25% travel). 📍Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality. 📍Participate in audits, pricing reviews, and strategic planning meetings. 📍Provide technical guidance to underwriters and act as a liaison with other departments.

Qualifications

📍7+ years of underwriting experience in commercial lines, with a strong background in E&S or specialty lines. 📍3+ years of experience in related areas such as rating, inspections, or claims preferred. 📍Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred. 📍Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills. 📍Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). 📍Bachelor's degree preferred. 📍Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
