Crypto thief Nicholas Truglia is facing jail again after police arrested him for fraud charges and possession of a weapon.

The 25-year-old cryptocurrency thief faces heading back to prison having only been released in January.

Truglia’s the Crypto Career Criminal

According to Bloomberg, police arrested Truglia on Tuesday while living with his father in Ocoee, Florida. While few details are known about his arrest, he is being charged with fraud and possession of a weapon.

Crypto thefts and scams make it to the headline frequently in 2023. But Truglia shocked the industry with a $23 million heist in 2018 from an individual, Michael Terpin, when crypto crimes were less common.

BeInCrypto reported that he also stole $1 million from a Silicon Valley executive Robert Ross through SIM swapping.

At the time of his first arrest in 2018, Truglia was just 21 years old. The authorities charged him with 21 counts of theft, including grand theft, altering or damaging computer data with the intent to defraud, and using personal information without authorization

During court sentencing, it was discovered that Truglia had assets worth over $53 million, in art, jewelry, and crypto.

Another crypto thief, Gary Harmon, was sentenced to four years in prison by a U.S. District Court last month. Harmon is accused of stealing 713 Bitcoin from a wallet that was in Internal Revenue Service (IRS) security.
