NFT Tickets: As Google searches for NFTs drop off a cliff, real-world use is something that can save the non-fungible token.

An outfit called Afterparty set out to prove NFTs have real-world value last weekend. In Las Vegas, they held an event called Afterparty NFT Art & Music Festival. They say it drew in over 6,000 guests. The line-up included 40 musical acts, DJs and digital artists.

To get access to the event, punters were required to have NFTs to the event. Well, half of them had NFT tickets. No word on what the others had. Afterparty say, “This was the first two-day, token-gated festival focused entirely on celebrating the NFT art movement and the creator-led community behind it, including over 3,000 Afterparty NFT holders, half of whom performed or showcased their art, and over 6,000 guests total.”

Afterparty’s NFTs unlock access to the Afterparty universe, including music festivals, gallery showings, and pop-up events at Art Basel.

The Chainsmokers headlined the festival and did their first NFT live mint on stage. The Kid LAROI also performed, as did SOFI Tukker, Bob Moses and Swae Lee.

NFT artists showcased digital and musical masterpieces at immersive, multi-sensory Las Vegas venue AREA15. Sia attended.

Afterparty will hold the next NFT Art & Music Festival in Los Angeles on the Halloween weekend. Its second-generation NFT collection (dropping soon) will unlock access.

Before the event, Afterparty took over the Las Vegas strip. They brought Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter, and model Heidi Klum with them.

Both celebs minted Afterparty NFTs. The digital art was projected onto three stories of a hotel.

Social media personalities such as Loren Gray, Bryce Hall, Josh Richards and Riley Hubatka joined the live minters.

Afterparty say they set out to create more than a festival. “The Web3 company and platform was built for creators and their biggest supporters to capitalize on tangible, real-world value of NFTs.”

While the fervor for NFTs is waning, those NFT projects which make life better for their holders are needed to keep the NFT spirit alive.
