The global financial ecosystem is changing. Revolutionary blockchain technology has unlocked the potential for people around the world to have more equal access to wealth and information. This transformation has begun with the mass global adoption of cryptocurrencies but like all new financial systems, it needs greater trust to realize its full potential and remain safe from bad actors. That’s where we come in. The Chainalysis blockchain data platform enables businesses, governments, and banks to solve the world’s most high-profile criminal cases, paving the way for an economy built on blockchains.
The Engineers at Chainalysis are driven by working on new technical challenges every day. Relentless problem-solvers and big dreamers, we’re creating the building blocks for future blockchain technologies. The Staff Software Engineer in our Government Systems team is responsible for innovating, executing, and influencing systems architectures in support of FedRAMP and On Premise solutions from the Chainalysis engineering organization. They champion infrastructure best-practices and influence team goals and product roadmaps, all while optimizing our infrastructure and development workflows. This role is a phenomenal opportunity to own an entire product where you’ll gain understanding of On-Prem functions and their impact to the systems perspective of FedRAMP as well. You’ll be the technical lead of a complete system CICD environment and the ability to engage and collaborate with the rest of the Engineering organization from backend, to front end. We measure success by how well you’ve enabled the team to safely operate with little to no intervention. In one year you’ll know you were successful if you’ve… Facilitated architectural alignment between core services teams to ensure FedRAMP alignment of CI/CD pipelines Managed upstream architecture implications regarding technology maturation Defined and establish rules of engagement for operating and diagnosing services operating inside these environments. Established security and compliance background and demonstrated ability to influence design and implementation of future Chainalysis products. Led in the Identification and application of vulnerability remediations, fix procedures, and when necessary mitigation techniques. Led in the identification and mitigation of cyber security risks through formal assessment activities. Streamlined data ingest pipelines to maximize the flow of data Hardened production systems (maintained uptime targets, graceful degradation, self-healing and automated recovery) Worked closely with Information Security to improve the systems used to test releases for security issues Established objective measures of done and documented assumptions Mentored and developed a team of Software Engineers to mature their skill sets. A background like this helps: Excellent knowledge of the FedRAMP landscape, operating constraints and risk Prior experience operating services in a highly compliant and/or constrained environment Experience in one or more of the following: Java, Scala, Golang, Python, or shell scripting Prior success implementing infrastructure as code including pipelines as code (Terraform, Helm, Ansible, Jenkins), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) A Background in DevOps Engineering: Develop, deploy and maintain applications into FedRAMP compliant infrastructure. Collaborate across teams to ensure FedRAMP alignment of CI/CD pipeline and manage upstream architecture implications regarding technology maturation. Established security and compliance background and demonstrated ability to influence design and implementation of future Chainalysis products. And/ Or Software Reliability Engineering: Work closely with development teams to improve maintainability and reliability of services. Support the identification and application of vulnerability remediations, fix procedures, and when necessary mitigation techniques. Prior experience operating services in a highly compliant and/or constrained environment Proven knowledge of the FedRAMP landscape, to ensure compliance with appropriate security standards A general understanding of popular Blockchain technologies would differentiate you: Bitcoin and/or other UTXO based Protocols (Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, ZCash, Dash) Ethereum and/or other Account based Protocols (EOS, Stellar, Cardano, Tron) **This position may perform work that the U.S. government has specified can only be performed by cleared employee, and therefore any offer will be contingent upon verification of the requirements. #LI-SA1 #LI-Remote At Chainalysis, we help government agencies, cryptocurrency businesses, and financial institutions track and investigate illicit activity on the blockchain, allowing them to engage confidently with cryptocurrency. We take care of our people with great benefits, professional development opportunities, and fun. You belong here. At Chainalysis, we believe that diversity of experience and thought makes us stronger. With both customers and employees around the world, we are committed to ensuring our team reflects the unique communities around us.
