Job Summary
Role
📍The Payments - Treasury team at Whatnot are globally responsible for how our business moves and records the money in every customer transaction; and how taxes, customs, returns, refunds and more just work no matter where our customers are in the world. We are deeply connected with the foundations of our business and unlock tremendous growth within and across international territories, while creating exciting new ways for our users to transact. You’ll collaborate closely with our sister Payments - Experience team, and with other teams and senior leaders across Whatnot while doing so. 📍To achieve these goals, we’re looking to make a number of substantial improvements to our systems including critical areas of the business like payment scale & reliability, increased payment options, fraud mitigation, and advanced shipping options and improved delivery times with a focus on providing a seamless international marketplace. 📍Each member of the team has a lot of individual responsibility and many more freedoms, so we need to hire people we can trust. Your ability to make good trade-offs and exercise good judgment is essential to us.

You first think about users rather than the best technical solution 📍You can mentor others, and prioritize building inclusive, supportive teams 📍Project owner - you’ve strong ownership instincts and can own projects from inception to production, and beyond 📍You are known for shipping products and features lightning-fast 📍You’re an excellent problem solver and don’t need to be told exactly what to do 📍You’re open to doing frontend work when required 📍Ability to pick up on new technologies very quickly 📍Proven track record of delivering features 📍Experience with payment systems, infrastructure, experiences and international commerce (nice to have) 📍Startup experience at a high-growth company (nice to have)
