đź“ŤGrowth engineers at Whatnot have big ownership and velocity in order to significantly impact the company top-line metrics. To achieve our goals, we are passionate about understanding our buyer and seller experiences and becoming experts in our business metrics. đź“ŤThis is a critical role on the notifications team, where you will architect complex systems to send the right message to the right user at the right time, at scale đź“ŤTeam members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of our San Francisco, CA, Los Angeles, CA, New York, NY, or Seattle, WA hubs.

We’ve found that low ego, a growth mindset, and leaning into action and high impact goes a long way here. 📍As our next Software Engineer on our Growth team, you should have 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience in high growth startups, plus: 📍A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience. 📍Experience building scalable systems (we primarily use Python, Elixir, JavaScript). 📍Excellent product instincts. You first think about users rather than the best technical solution. 📍Experience working on notifications or messaging systems is a plus
