Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. Job Summary
You will:
📍Build our Banking Platform in the cloud, used by the organization and a necessary strategic asset of Square. 📍Design and implement high-volume, low-latency, distributed transaction processing systems, making thoughtful tradeoffs between consistency and availability when both are not possible. 📍Abstract away the legacy APIs of our financial partners into consistent, reasonable service APIs for Square’s products to build upon. 📍Build systems that manage customers’ sensitive data and hold Square to the highest standards for security and compliance. 📍Work cross-functionally with our product, business, and finance teams to develop Square's global banking strategy. 📍Design fault tolerant systems so the team can move fast without negatively impacting customers.
Qualifications
You Have: đź“Ť5+ years of software development experience. đź“ŤInnate curiosity and a desire to be responsible for all aspects of reliably moving billions of dollars in a highly focused and highly functional team. đź“ŤA track record of creating highly available, scalable, low-latency, global systems. đź“ŤStrong commitment to high code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices. đź“ŤA strong sense of customer empathy and a drive to ship software that improves their lives đź“ŤThe desire to work collaboratively, whether in person, over video, or asynchronously through online tools.
