Job Summary

Responsibilities

📍Act as legal POC for Binance Latvia and advise Binance Latvia on all Latvian law issues. 📍Provide support and advice to the Europe and Latvia management teams in relation to engagement with the Bank of Latvia. 📍Advise on Latvian law in relation to regulatory issues. 📍Advise on MiCA issues together with the rest of the EU regulatory team. 📍Act as local point of contact for any local law issues concerning corporate issues, litigation, regulatory investigations and commercial contracts. 📍Lead on the management and handling of material requests from law enforcement agencies in Latvia, as well as working closely with the 📍Global Sanctions Lead Counsel on matters relating to sanctions, ABC and AML/CTF risk in Latvia. 📍Work closely with the Binance Latvia MLRO on matters relating to AML/CTF law in Latvia. 📍Monitor and advise on legal and regulatory developments in Latvia affecting the company’s operations. 📍Assist with the development and implementation of Latvia-focused legal and regulatory policy and guidance aligning with Binance's strategic objectives. 📍Working in tandem with various business teams, support the introduction and expansion of new products and services. 📍Manage external counsel in Latvia to protect the company’s interests while controlling costs. 📍Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations and new projects. 📍Develop and implement policies and procedures to minimize legal exposure.

Requirements

📍Latvia qualified lawyer. 📍Minimum 4 years PQE in a legal role focussed on financial services regulation and technology. 📍Strong knowledge of Latvia financial services rules and guidance, particularly in relation to digital assets, payments, e-money, cyber and operational resilience, and financial crime. 📍Direct crypto experience ideal, but at minimum active interest in the cryptocurrency industry and its evolving regulations. 📍Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in both written and spoken English, enabling effective coordination 📍Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
