Job Summary
Responsibilities:
šFamiliarize yourself with an existing Postgres RDS database and current database architecture šReview and understand existing Python and Go codebases šOptimize queries and improve database performance and efficiency šImplement and manage database schema improvements, including tooling and processes šPerform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning šMonitor database performance, identifying bottlenecks and providing recommendations for improvements šHandle ad-hoc data queries and data analysis requests as needed šProvide documentation for database-related processes and best practices
Requirements:
šExpert understanding of SQL and Postgres šDeep understanding of AWS RDS šStrong query optimization skills šStrong understanding of database maintenance tasks including migrations, performance monitoring, backup & recovery šStrong understanding of database security and best practices šFamiliarity with common ORMs, particularly in Python, Go, and/or JS šHas worked with data at scale
