Job Summary
What Will You Be Doing?
šLegal Counsel: Provide primary legal counsel to support business activities on a wide variety of legal and regulatory matters. This includes conducting legal analysis on new product initiatives and identifying legal issues and/or exposure arising from any contracts and agreements committed or to be entered into by the company. šContracts & Agreements: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements, including but not limited to commercial contracts, partnerships, collaborations, licensing, software development, intellectual property, data privacy and security, and vendor agreements. šRegulatory Affairs: Monitor regulatory developments and assist in managing the company's relationships with regulatory authorities, external legal counsels, and other relevant stakeholders to comply with all relevant laws, obligations, and requirements. Ensure effective communication, collaboration, and representation of the company's interests at all times. šRisk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify legal risks associated with the company's operations, products, and services, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks effectively. Escalate issues to the senior leadership as appropriate.
What We Look For In You:
šProven track record: You have 5-8 years of experience as a legal counsel, preferably with a focus on cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, financial services, or related industries. Experience as an in-house legal counsel is preferred. šEducation: You have a Bachelorās of Laws degree from an accredited law school and you possess CLP/have been admitted to the Bar in the jurisdiction relevant to the company's operations. šDomain knowledge: You demonstrate the ability to quickly learn about the blockchain/cryptocurrency industry, business and department operations, and relevant regulations such as the Employment Act, PDPA, and GDPR. šLegal knowledge: You developed an expertise in at least one area of the Legal functions - Legal Counsel, Contracts & Agreements, Regulatory Affairs, Risk Assessment & Mitigations, Intellectual Property, Corporate Governance, Dispute Resolution, Regulatory Filings, Policy Development, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Legal Research & Compliance.
