Job Summary
What You’ll Do
📍Oversee and manage all legal matters of Figure Markets, including but not limited to financial and securities law and regulations, provide payments, broker-dealer and alternative trading system guidance to all applicable products, regulatory and compliance matters, major business transactions, contracts, intellectual property, marketing, data privacy, consumer protection, security and company policies 📍Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the C-Suite to provide actionable legal and regulatory guidance for all Figure Markets products Advise executive team on strategic and complex legal and regulatory issues and serve as a strategic advisor to the business teams 📍Manage and develop legal team members, while remaining hands on and owning individual projects. 📍We’re looking for a leader that is a doer and a delegator 📍Oversee the company’s regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries 📍Manage outside counsel in a strategic and efficient and cost effective manner 📍Monitor and provide legal support, analysis, and interpretation in connection with legislative and policy developments to ensure compliance, and participate in lobbying activity to help drive new regulatory policy relating to the Figure Markets business
What We Look For
📍10+ years of combined, relevant experience in law firms, governmental agencies, and/or in-house legal departments advising on registered and unregistered securities law issues, alternative trading systems, payments, broker-dealer regulatory issues, digital assets/crypto and blockchain 📍J.D. and membership with at least one state bar in good standing 📍Ability to think strategically and critically to identify key issues and devise practical business-forward solutions 📍Entrepreneurial and ability to take ownership of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment 📍Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively both individually and in a team environment with stakeholders located in multiple locations 📍Compliance licensing processes and procedures relating to MTLs a plus
