Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT)

Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) is a digital system used to record transactions.

Unlike traditional recording systems, DLT is decentralized and the information is stored in multiple locations.

Every single transaction is verified in every node, making DLT almost impervious to data altering after it has been verified, since that would require changing the information in every previous node.

The most well-known distributed ledger technology is blockchain, which is used to power cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stellar etc.
